Your Practitioner

medical herbalist and acupuncturistHi, I’m Nikki Hawkes.  I am a registered Medical Herbalist and Acupuncturist.  I am a friendly and professional practitioner with over 15 years of experience as a medical herbalist.

As a member of the professional bodies the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (CPP), you can be confident that my training was to the highest standard and that I also adhere to a strict code of ethics, practice and confidentiality.  As well as maintaining a programme of continuing professional development.

I recently completed training with Chris Kresser and I am incorporating functional medicine diagnostic procedures into my practice.

How can I help you?

If you have been coping with a long-standing or complex illness.  And you don’t want any more treatments that just suppress symptoms without addressing underlying issues.  If you want to get to the root of what is causing your symptoms and explore what nutritional therapy and herbal medicine has to offer.

As a qualified medical herbalist and acupuncturist I can offer guidance on choosing the best natural medicine for you, including nutrition, herbs, acupuncture, supplements, lifestyle and more.

Your body has an amazing capacity for self-healing.  It just needs the right solutions.

You can read more about my work and my approach to treatment on my blog. The principles that guide my practice include the philosophy that the goal for herbal treatment is to support the body in it’s natural healing processes. Sometimes, that process needs a little nudge that herbal remedies can provide. I prefer to use herbs as foods or as tonics to support wellbeing and health.

I see my role in the consultation process as that of an educator. As well as a partner in the healing relationship. I believe that my patient knows and understands his or her body better than I do. But I can assist in providing a holistic view. Together we create a treatment plan. The plan relates to the whole health of the patient. The symptoms as well as the underlying causes. So that lasting healing can take place.
