Herbal Medicines under threat!
The UK Government is thinking about severely restricting the medicines that herbalists can provide. If this is allowed to happen the public could soon lose access to many herbal medicines which are currently available.
If you want to continue to have access to quality herbal care from herbalists then you can help.
Please read the following documents and write to your MP. Then consider responding to the on-line consultation document before the 2nd November.

Regulation of Herbal Practitioners
The Government moves to regulate practitioners of herbal medicine and acupuncture. The National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) is strongly in support of this. View the NIMH press release here (July 2009)
Herbal Medicine Week 2009
This year Western Herbal Medicine Week is from 20th to 27th June
The highlight of the week is to be a mass herbal walk on Midsummer’s Eve Tuesday 23rd June. Herbalists all over the country are being encouraged to lead herbal walks through parks, gardens and countryside, showing members of the public the incredible herbal diversity in even the smallest stretches of open space. The choice of date is deliberate, as in A Midsummer Night’s Dream Shakespeare displayed his considerable knowledge of herbs and their uses.
More details can be found on the National Institute of Medical Herbalists web site.
