The National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) is the UK's leading professional organisation of practitioners of herbal medicine.

Founded in 1864, the NIMH exists to maintain high standards in the practice of herbal medicine, to promote awareness of the benefits that herbal medicine can offer in the treatment of ill health and the maintenance of good health, and to develop further research into the safety and efficacy of herbal practice and herbal medicine.

All NIMH members are governed by a comprehensive code of ethics and disciplinary procedure, and membership automatically includes full professional indemnity insurance.  Members of the NIMH are required to take part in continuing professional development.

Members of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists are entitled to use the initials MNIMH after their name.
